If you are a fanatic tennis fan, then I can tell, you blocked out your diary for the Wimbledon matches this year… Me too 😉
In 1987, bracelets made up of diamonds all around the band was known as eternity bracelets and was relatively unknown. The three-time Wimbledon champion and 18-time Grand Slam champion, Chris Evert (the Serena Williams of that time) was wearing one of these bracelets during a Wimbledon match. In the course of the game, the bracelet broke and fell on the middle of the court.
The match was immediately stopped by Chris to retrieve her precious bracelet. In the process, the WORLD’s TV cameras focused on this particular diamond bracelet. After the match, during an interview, a commentator incurred about the bracelet and she said she always wears this diamond bracelet whilst playing. She referred to this lucky charm as her tennis bracelet.
Today the Tennis Bracelet, as dubbed by Evert, is instantly recognisable and stole the hearts of many since that event. That is why it’s the secret desire of every woman’s heart.
The Tennis Bracelet became so iconic that it is as popular today as it was then.
If you think of yourself as timeless and classic, then this bracelet should not be missing from your own collection.
The first records of eternity bracelets can be traced back to the 1920s but were relatively unknown. However It gained popularity overnight. No outfit is too fancy or too dull for it… some may even wear only that!
More than a century later tennis bracelets are still as ever-popular!
With the latest stacking trends, tennis bracelets are stacked together to create a modern yet stylish look.
The beauty of a tennis bracelet is you can wear it with jeans and look great or dress it up for that special occasion – making a tennis bracelet a very versatile item to have. Every girl should have one!
