These are our Mother’s Day winners! We had a competition at Pretoria Seuns Hoërskool, where students were challenged to write a heartfelt letter celebrating the mother figures in their lives.

As the fragrance of fresh flowers lingered in the air and the warmth of love enveloped hearts, Dèonne le Roux Jewellers hosted an unforgettable Mother's Day competition in April 2024. Nestled in the heart of Pretoria Seuns Hoërskool, the event wasn't just about celebrating mothers—it was a heartfelt tribute to the remarkable women who shape our lives in countless ways.

The students were tasked to craft a heartfelt letter honoring the mother figures who have left an indelible mark on their lives. From biological mothers to grandmothers, aunts, and mentors, the competition aimed to shine a spotlight on the diverse decoration of motherhood.

As the deadline approached on the 30 th of April, the response surpassed all expectations, with over 35 entries flooding in. Each letter was a testament to the depth of the bonds shared between mothers and their children, overflowing with love, gratitude, and cherished memories.

The anticipation reached its peak as the winners were announced on the 10 th of May, their names engraved in the archives of gratitude. Neil Grobbelaar emerged victorious, walking away with the coveted Michel Herbelin Epsilon watch—a timeless symbol of appreciation for the woman who has stood by his side through every triumph and tribulation.

The second prize, a breathtaking white gold flower ring adorned with blue sapphires, found its rightful owner in Tiaan Loots. A delicate masterpiece that mirrored the beauty and resilience of maternal love, it served as a tangible reminder of the precious bond shared between a mother and her child.

Finally, Hanro was honored with the third prize—a luminous yellow-gold pebble pendant, a symbol of the countless blessings bestowed upon him by the maternal figures in his life.
